Britain’s leader has faced fierce criticism for his government’s handling of the crisis in Afghanistan; as Britain; the United States and other Western allies struggle to evacuate their citizens and others from Kabul.
Protesters lined up behind banners reading “The Taliban have not changed”; while others held banners bearing slogans such as “stop killing Afghans” and “stop the oppression of Afghan women”.
Many participants also waved Afghan flags and chanted slogans against the Taliban takeover.
